SOME YELLOWTAIL LIMITS CAUGHT BY MEXICAN PANGAS FISHING AT ENSENADA

Fishing at Punta Banda, Ensenada, this week our pangas caught a lot of yellowtail and many limits of bottom fish. We caught the yellowtail every day except Thursday, from two fish per boat, up to full yellowtail limits. The yellowtail are about 15 to 20 pounds, but some are bigger. We are still fishing for the yellowtails with the Ensenada aluminum jigs only, not with bait. The yellowtail are on the surface and they are biting all day long. There are no other Ensenada fishing boats around in our fishing area around the tip of Punta Banda.

The fishing water at Ensenada has been steady at 59 degrees all week long, and the weather at Ensenada has been mostly cloudy, about 57 to 63 degrees, with 2 to 4-foot ocean swells. The wind has been calm, about 3-5 m.p.h.

On Saturday, March 12, Gary Sainsbury from Fallbrook CA, Oliver Storm and Brian Vandenbroucke from Encinitas CA went fishing on the Vonny I and caught limits of yellowtails, bonitas, barracudas and calicos.

On Friday 11 March, Pam Shier from local "lengueta arenosa" neighbor when fishing on the Vonny I and caught limits of Ensenada yellowtails, bonitas, barracudas, calicos.

On Wednesday 09 March, Jay Johnson and Len Selover from Garden Grove CA when fishing on the Vonny I and caught limits yellowtails, barracudas, calicos. Lee Baillie from 29 Palms CA and Doug Knox from Vista CA caught limits of Ensenada yellowtails, bonitas, barracudas on the Vonny III with Cruz Zamora.

On Tuesday, 08 March, Walter Korbler and friends from San Diego CA went fishing on the Vonny I and caught limits of yellowtails, bonitas, calicos.

On Monday, March 07, Dan Swett from Costa Mesa CA and Milo Leonard from Rancho Packard (local) caught two yellowtails limits of bonitas and rockcods on the Vonny III with Cruz Zamora.

On Sunday, March 06, Evert Thompson and a friend from Sun City CA went fishing on the Vonny I and caught limits of Ensenada calicos and two yellowtails and one squid. Tony Rivero and daughters from San Diego CA caught 3 yellowtails and limits of calico bass on the Vonny III with Cruz Zamora.
