GOOD ALBACORE FISHING OFF ENSENADA WITH EL DORADO SPORTFISHING
July 16, 2005, Memo Gomez, El Dorado Sportfishing, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:
On Thursday, July 14th, I went fishing out of Ensenada with three passengers. The day was covered with fog, and we couldn't see anything on top of the water. We were able to fish the bottom and we caught limits of whitefish, four scorpionfish, and six lingcod. The water temperature was 66.5 degrees, and we were fishing at the bajo de San Miguel.
On Friday, I went outside fishing for albacore off Ensenada with two passengers, arriving at the area called the 238, and we trolled with a lot of success and caught 20 albacore between 25 and 40 pounds, with sardinas and lures. The water temperature in the fishing area was 67 degrees, and the day was very calm without wind.
On Saturday, I went fishing out of Ensenada with four passengers, fishing locally at Todos Santos Island, and we saw a lot of yellowtail but they didn't want to eat. We caught five barracuda, and limits of lingcod, rockcod, four whitefish, three scorpionfish, and one calico bass. The water temperature was 66.5 degrees, and the day was very good, with no wind.
