NO SURFACE FISHING ACTION AT PUNTA BANDA
DURING EL DORADO SPORTFISHING TRIP

July 22, 2005, Memo Gomez, El Dorado Sportfishing, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:

Today, I fished locally at Ensenada, and we first tried to look for fish on the surface but without success while trolling around the area of Punta Banda for about two hours. We caught nothing there. The water is very red due to the red tide, and the water temperature was 70 degrees. We saw a lot of bait in the water but the fishing was not good there. We then went to the south point and fished on the bottom with two anglers for limits of rockcod, two lingcod, and four good cabrillas.
