GOOD ENSENADA MARLIN ACTION FOR STEVE ROSS' BOAT BAD DOG
Aug. 21, 2005, Steve Ross, Bad Dog, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:
On Friday, August 19th, 2005, Bad Dog departed for fishing out of Ensenada's Marina Coral with me, Steve Ross, Gail Ross, and Marinero Alex "Jando" Ruiz. We arrived at the 1140 finger and caught 2 yellowtail, one weighing 25 pounds, and a dorado which weighed 20 pounds, while fishing in 69 degree calm blue water, in a full moon phase. We had 6 marlin knock downs in the same area.
On Saturday, August 20th, 2005, Bad Dog departed Marina Coral with me, Gail, guest Juan Lu Cardona-Sepulveda, and Marinero Alex "Jando" Ruiz. We arrived at the lower 500 in HEAVY 5-7 foot, blue, 68 degree seas. We caught 1 yellowtail, 1 dorado, and 1 marlin at 0900 in 20 minutes which weighed 116 pounds on the Marina Coral scale in Ensenada. Once we had 3 marlin on the jigs, but they all got away. Eight "SUPER" seiners all had nets in the water 5 miles east of the 500 spot. They were catching many tuna. Not good for us.
