VERY GOOD ROCKCOD FISHING FOR PANGAS AT PUNTA BANDA
Sept. 25-Oct. 1, 2005, Ivan Villarino, Vonny's Fleet, Ensenada, Baja California Mexico:
This week, we had great Ensenada fishing around Punta Banda for bottom fish. On Monday, Jerry Stussman and his friends from Simi Valley, Calif., caught one yellow, but was all for surface fishing, and they got limits of rockcods, lingcods and some calico bass.
Fishing on Tuesday and Wednesday, our boats come back with about 30 rockcods each.
On Friday, we got limits on bottom fish.
On Saturday we caught limits on bottom fish too. Francisco Espinoza and his friend from Santa Monica, Calif., caught one nice 10 pound calico bass and limits bottom fish on the Vonny-II with Capt. Hector Zamora.
And Pat Brennan and his friend from Orange, Calif., caught nice big lingcod and limits of rockcods on the Vonny-I with Capt. Beto Zamora.
Ensenada fishing weather all the week was mostly cloudy in the morning becoming mostly sunny, with patchy fog in the morning, temperatures of 63 -75 degrees, light winds. Water temperatures in our Ensenada fishing area were about 62 degrees, with swells at 3 feet.
