GOOD BOTTOM FISH NUMBERS SCORED BY VONNY'S FLEET
Oct. 2-8, 2005, Ivan Villarino, Vonny's Fleet, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:
On Wednesday: Jay Johnson went fishing ouit of Ensenada on the Vonny I with Capt. Beto and found calm water and bottom fish most of the day, including assorted rock cod, ling cod, etc.
Fishing on Thursday Eileen Kennedy, her husband, Greg Lenhart, and Nancy went out on the Vonny-I and Vonny-III. The Vonny-III with Hector Zamora caught 20 assorted bottom fish, sugar bass, and 1 very nice ling cod of 12 lbs. Beto did very good, with 25 bottom fish, ling cods and 1 yellowtail. Old eagle eyes strikes again.
Fishing on Friday, Jay Johnson brought long time friend Ed Lizarraga and Capt. Beto found in the launching area a bait boil right on the beach where we launch. They were rowing out. Beto said "okay" to Ed and Jay on tossing a plastic, and bingo, a 7 pound halibut, and later that day big ling for Ed of 14 pounds. It was good week for bottom fishing at Ensenada.
Fishing on Sunday, Chad Hawkins from San Diego went out on the Vonny-I with Beto Zamora and caught one nice 37 pound yellowtail and limits on bottom fish.
Ensenada weather was mostly cloudy in the morning, then clearing. Temperature 64-72s F. Light winds. Swells 3 ft. Water temp 61s F.
