A SLOW FISHING WEEK FOR PANGAS AT ENSENADA
Oct. 9-15, 2005, Ivan Villarino, Vonny's Fleet, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:
We have had a slow fishing week at Ensenada.
On Tuesday and Friday, Jay Johnson went fishing on both days, catching 36 rock cod, 6 ling cod and 4 calicos, both days on the Vonny-I with Capt. Beto Zamora. All fishing was for bottom fish, with the weather calmer water on Friday.
On Saturday, on the Vonny-I, Capt. Beto went out fishing with Ricardo Arias from West Covina, Ray Parra, and Mike Fishman, who had a birthday on this day, and they caught a total of 30 bottom fish and 2 yellowtails 18 to 22 pounds. The fish broke loose for a while and good ole Beto zeroed in on them. It was a nice closing for this week.
Ensenada fishing area weather this week was partly cloudy, temperature 62-68, light winds in the morning, swells 3 feet, water temperature 61 degrees.
