FISHING ABOARD THE CHARTER BOAT TOP DOG

I, my son Little Joe, and his friend, Jon Hocker fished at Ensenada with Capt. Jon Strickland last Saturday on his 35 foot charter Sportfisher, Top Dog.

Ensenada weather was beautiful, with glassy water, nice live bait, no wind and the sun was out all day.

We were continuously metering a lot fish but they just weren't biting. Maybe it was the full moon.

We ended up the fishing shy of limits but we boated some Reds, Ling Cod, Sculpin and Sand Bass.

I've fished for a lot of years and Jon Strickland is one of the hardest working captains I've fished with. When we would reach one of Jon's many mapped GPS spots, if we aren't bring fish over the rail in 15 minutes it's lines up and we'd move on.
