BOTTOM FISH LIMITS AND 1 YELLOWTAIL FOR THE WEEK
June 25, 2006, Ivan Villarino, Vonny's Fleet, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:
Vonny's Fleet pangas caught bottom fish limits this week at Punta Banda, Ensenada, and 1 yellowtail of 35 pounds.
On Monday, Jay Johnson went out fishing on the Vonny-I with Capt. Beto, and Jack Maia from L.A. fished on our panga Vonny-III with Capt. Hector. Both boats caught limits of bottom fish and bonitos, barracudas and calicos.
Tuesday, Clyde Laws from Chapultepec at Ensenada went fishing on the Vonny-I with Capt. Beto and he caught much of the same, lots of calicos, lingcods and bonitos. Our panga Vonny-III took Dean Bean fishing with Capt. Hector and got limits of rock fish chuckle heads, white fish, bonitas and barracudas.
On Wednesday, the Vonny-I with Capt. Beto took Jay Johnson his grand kids and the Vonny-III with Capt. Hector took Brian "Calico" Foley from "Campo la Joya" at Ensenada. Again, everybody caught limits on calicos and bonitas on both boats. Lots of fun.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Kellen, son, and Lloyd Mitchell, father, and Jeff Hartman from Hollywood, Calif., took 3 days of the pangas Vonny-I and Vonny-III. They got limits of very big lingcods and calicos, bonitas for all 3 days and one nice big yellowtaill 35 pounds. The boys had a blast with bonitas and yellowtail. I smoked 60 pounds of fish for them.
Ensenada fishing weather was scattered clouds, Temperature 66-75 degrees; Light winds; Swells 2-4 feet; Water temperature 64 degrees.
