MEXICAN BOTTOM SPORTFISHING LIMITS CAUGHT BY VONNY'S FLEET PANGAS
Jan. 28, 2007, Vonny's Fleet Sportfishing, Ivan Villarino, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:
The week, we had great fishing at Ensenada. Our pangas at Punta Banda had beautiful weather, warmer, with lots of sun and calm water. And the fishing was good.
On Monday, Jay Johnson went out on the Vonny I panga with Capt. Beto Zamora. It was a crisp, cold morning at Ensenada, but clear and calm all day long. The fish was for 6 lingcods, 10 whitefish, 10 red rockcods, and some sandbass.
On Thursday, Jay Johnson went out again on the Vonny I with Beto, and they landed a similar catch of fish, except they also got some bonitos for the Vonny's Fleet client fish smoker.
On Friday, Kalim Owens from Vista, Ca., and Oliver Storm from Maryland went fishing on the Vonny I. They had good fishing water and plenty of fish for Mexican sportfishing limits of whitefish, reds, and ling cods.
On Saturday, Rudy Lopez from Los Angeles, Ca., went fishing with Beto on the Vonny I, and they had limits of bottom fish and a 29 pound yellowtail.
Our fishing area at Punta Banda, Ensenada, Mexico, had scattered clouds on Saturday, temperature 53-60 degrees, winds at 4 m.p.h. in the afternoon. The water temperature was 56 degrees at Punta Banda, and swells 2-4 feet.
