FISHING WATERS ROUGH AND TURBID OFF SAN AGUSTINILLO
Jan. 11-18, 2006, Eric Weissman, Explore Fly Fishing, San Agustinillo, Huatulco, Mexico Fishing Report:
Seas off San Agustinillo are very rough and turbid. Fishing conditions are lightening up in last few days. Before, we had a bunch of tunny, tuna and mackerel by the tens of thousands.
Sailfish are around and tons of tuna, big tunas as well as many small ones.
The tuna boats went by here yesterday on their way to Huatulco, and there may be as many as 100 boats down there. Up here we are okay and numbers of tuna are around. We have been hitting sailfish together with the tuna.
The sea warmed up a bit and calmed down, but shore breakers are still big while jacks and roosters are on the shore.
The sea temperature is around 85 degrees now but was cooler.
The day temperature is 88 or so, and nights are cooling off. Things are shaping up and the "Norte" which blew through for most of the week seems to be over. Lots of whales this year.
