EXCELLENT SAILFISH NUMBERS LEAD FISH COUNTS

The offshore fishing action at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo was dominated by an excellent sailfish bite.
Returning to fish at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, angler, Rich Engle, fishing aboard the "Dos Hermanos II" for 4 days, landed 13 sailfish and 18 yellowtail jacks, (jack crevalle).
Ixtapa Zihuatanejo fishing Capt. Adolfo, "Dos Hermanos I", also fishing offshore for 4 days, reported 15 sailfish and 1 dorado (mahi-mahi).
Captain Adolfo also fished 2 inshore days, landing 5 roosterfish, 17 jack crevalle and 4 Spanish mackerel (sierra).
Returning angler, Ron Zweig, fishing a long day with Captain Temo on the "Secuestro De Amor", found a nice school of yellowfin tuna, landing 5 and losing another 5.
Angler Marti Griffiths, fishing 3 days aboard the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo sportfishing boat "Vamonos III", landed 15 sailfish.
Mr. Simon Pratt, aboard the "Gran Jefe", landed 4 sailfish and 2 yellowfin tuna for 2 fishing days.
European angler, Mr. Theunis, fishing 8 days with Captain Candelario on the "Leydy", landed 22 sailfish, 1 dorado, 31 bonito and a very rare l8 lb. Pacific black snook.
Texas angler, Connie Graham, fishing aboard the "Dos Hermanos I", landed 7 sailfish for Ixtapa Zihuatanejo fishing 1 day.
Captain Adolfo, fishing with New Hampshire angler, Tom Davis, (the winner of the I/Z Total Tag & Release Tournament) landed 12 sailfish for 2 fishing days.
Captain Jose Vargas of the "La Bamba", reported a 5sailfish day for client Dave Tuxbury for 2 fishing days and 5 sailfish for client Walt Smith for 1 day fishing.
Angler Mike Anderson, fishing aboard the super panga, "Michelle" , landed 15 sailfish for 4 Ixtapa Zihuatanejo fishing days.
European angler, Jean Chapman, fishing aboard the "Janeth", landed 15 jack crevalle, 20 bonito and 20 needlefish for 5 inshore fishing days.
Angler Paul Frank, fishing with Captain Temo on the "Secuestro De Amor", managed 12 roosterfish, 9 sailfish, 3 jack crevalle and 1 Spanish mackerel for 4 Ixtapa Zihuatanejo fishing days.
Captain Alex, "Gran Jefe", started the New Year by landing 4 sailfish for 2 offshore days.
The bluewater is very close but the action is taking place 18-25 miles offshore.
Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Weather: Mostly sunny, ranging from 68 nights to 91 daytime highs.
