AT LEAST ONE BLUE MARLIN CAUGHT PER DAY
April 30, 2005, Ed Kunze, Baja On The Fly, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mexico Fishing Report:
Blue fishing water remains only five to six miles off the beach at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, and sea surface temperatures are in the 80s. All the conditions are in place for great fishing in May, but the full moon hurt us a bit this last week at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo.
The blue marlin fishing is still strong at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, with three taken in the best day this last week. At least one blue marlin has been taken each day.
Roosterfish are showing again, with May being the traditional start of action for these hard fighting members of the jack family.
About two sailfish per day, per boat, are being caught.
Ixtapa Zihuatanejo weather is partly cloudy, in the high-80s, with water temperatures of 80 to 84 degrees.
