SAILFISH AND BLUE MARLIN KEEPING OFFSHORE ANGLERS BUSY

The offshore fishing action at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo continues to see more and more sailfish while a good mix of Blue Marlin has been keeping anglers busy and on their toes.
Inshore, the huge schools of Yellowtail Jacks have invaded the beaches and they are making it difficult for the Roosterfish to catch up to either bait or lures.
Captain Alex on the Grande Jefe continues to lead the fleet in marlin catches as he posted two more blue marlin last week. The first was landed by Joan and Chuck Pojman from New York. That fish scaled in at 396 pounds. The second marlin was landed New Jersey Angler Steve Pendergast who's fish scaled in at 192 pounds. Mr. Pendergast also landed 2 sailfish, the largest going over 102 pounds and broke a 20 lb class rod on a huge roosterfish.
Ixtapa Zihuatanejo sportfishing Captain Francisco on the Marfel posted a 3 sailfish day early this week.
Captain Jose Vargas on the La Bamba reported a 3 sailfish day for Angler Tina Elston, and duplicated that performance for Illinois angler Justin Heiden.
Captain Jose finished the week by posting a 4 sailfish day for Angler Doug Jost.
First time visitor to I/Z, Richard Klamka fishing a half day aboard the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo charter fishing boat Marlin Azul landed 1 sailfish just a few miles from port.
French Angler Michell Simon fishing an inshore week of pencil popping aboard the Dos Hermanos 1 by landed 17 YELLOWTAILS JACKS and 12 BONITOS on light tackle in two days.
Returning angler Mr Chandler fishing with Captain Adolofo for 2 days landed 1 ROOSTERFISH and 1 SEA BASS along with a handful of bonitos and then landed a 320 lb BLUE MARLIN on his day offshore. Mr Chandler fishing aboard the Secuestyro for 2 days landed 3 sailfish and 3 BONITOS on a fly.
Long Island angler Harold " DOC " Jarrow fishing 5 days aboard the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo super panga " Cobra " Landed 15 sailfish a 1 Tuna.
Sommerset N.J. Angler Robert Nemeth fishing with Captain Adolofo landed 10 YELLOWTAIL JACKS and 7 Bonitos on his first day inshore.
Angler Rudy Saxton fishing a combination day of inshore and offshore with Captain Cheva on the Dos Hermanos 2 landed 1 SAILFISH, 6 YELLOWTAIL JACKS and 4 BONITOS.
European Angler Mr Draboul finished his last three days of fishing with Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Captain Cheva landing 4 sailfish 2 YELLOWTAIL JACKS and 10 BONITOS. Also from Europe Mr Noseda fishing with Captain Candelerio aboard the Leydy for 5 Days landed 6 SAILFISH, 1 DORADO, 20 BONITOS and lost a big Marlin.
West Coast anglers Jeff Zachan & Jay Wojkiewicz fishing aboard the VAMONOS 2 landed 2 sailfish in 1 offshore day. Kansas Angler Tim Clopton fishing 1 offshore day aboard the VAMONOS 1 landed 1 SAILFISH. Georgia Angler Mr John Simmons fishing with Captain Chiro aboard the VAMONOS 3 landed 10 sailfish in 4 days of fishing.
Finally, we have two boat fishing Puerto Vincente Guerrero starting today. The Grand Jefe and the Dos Hermanos 2 are hosting California coast angler and owner of Pescado Del Sol, Frank Williamson. On the group's first day offshore they landed 6 SAILFISH, 3 on each super panga.
Ixtapa Zihuatanejo weather was sunny with No Rain but a little windy in the Afternoons. Winds are from the West.
Sea Conditions were Calm to Moderate. Blue water was at the 10 mile mark. Bait Supply: Very Good.
