SPORTFISHING BOATS RESCHEDULING DUE TO WEATHER DELAYS
July 13, 2005, Stan Lushinsky, Ixtapa Sportfishing Charters, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mexico Fishing Report:
The weatherman turned against the fishermen last week at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, and rescheduling charter days was necessary throughout the week. Still those anglers who ventured both inshore and offshore were treated to a mixed bag of fishing action.
Returning Ixtapa Zihuatanejo angler, Mr. Gialketis fishing three days aboard the Marlin Azul with Captain Javier Vargas landed 5 SAILFISH.
Utah anglers Dan and son Daniel Yates fishing three days aboard the La Bamba with Captain Jose Vargas, landed 9 Sailfish. The Father and son team also fished two inshore days with Captain Adolofo on the Dos Hermanos 1 landing 5 YELLOWTAIL JACKS, 3 ROOSTERFISH, 1 NEEDLEFISH, 5 BONITOS. And a rare summertime 50 LB. WAHOO.
First time visitor to Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Mr. Steve Ayers fishing aboard the Vamonos 3 landed 2 SAILFISH on his first day offshore.
Angler Stan Rushing fishing offshore aboard the Grand Jefe landed 1 SAILFISH loosing one other SAILFISH then fishing one inshore day also aboard the Grande Jefe, landed 5 YELLOWTAIL JACKS, a 20 LB GROUPER and lost one nice ROOSTERFISH. Stan reported seeing many other Roosterfish follow their plugs but heavy surf made it difficult to accurately present the plugs to the fish which were holding close to the beach. I.S.C. Representative, Mr. Able Cortez also reported several Yellowfin tuna catches throughout the week.
Ixtapa Zihuatanejo weather was windy with some rain and sea conditions were moderate to rough.
