STAN LUSHINSKY SPORTFISHING REPORT
July 22, 2005, Stan Lushinsky, Ixtapa Sportfishing Charters, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Fishing Report:
An invasion of Oceanic Tuna (SKIPJACKS) hit the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo fishing area last week. The fishing action was nonstop on most offshore days.
Captain Chiro on the Vamonos 3 with the Chu Group landed 48 Tuna in two days of fishing while partner Captain Morales on the Vamonos 2 landed 29 Tuna and 2 Sailfish.
Also fishing with the Mr. Chu's group, Captain Luis on the Marea Azul posted 2 SAILFISH and 35 Oceanic tuna in two days of fishing at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo.
Angler Francisco Jaimes from Queretaro, Mexico, landed 13 TUNA, 2 SAILFISH and 1 DORADO in one offshore day fishing aboard the Grande Jefe with Ixtapa Zihuatanejo charter fishing Captain Luis.
Angler Rob VanFleet also fishing with Captain Luis did some bottom fishing landing 36 Red Snapper, 3 Big Eyes, 2 BONITOS and loosing a huge Grouper which spooled the reel before breaking the line.
European angler, Mr Fournal fishing his last day with Captain Arturo on the Janeth landed 1 sailfish. Mr Courbier also from Europe fishing 3 days with Captain Candelerio on the Leydy landed 3 SAILFISH, 10 TUNA and 2 ROOSTERFISH.
Returning Ixtapa Zihuatanejo angler Dr. Tamin fishing inshore with Captain Arturo on the Janeth landed 7 ROOSTER to 50 LBS.
New Jersey angler, Ron Reinhardt fishing inshore at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo with Captain Adolfo landed 10 Roosterfish to 60 Lbs then landed 3 Sailfish in a half day of Offshore fishing aboard the Dos Hermanos 1.
Captain Adolofo also lead Alaska anglers Gary and Holly Walker to a fantastic day of offshore fishing which saw the couple land 1 SAILFISH, 3 TUNA, and released an estimated 350 LB Blue Marlin after a 3 hour battle. Most of which was done by Holly, who hooked the fish on 30 lb test. Mr. Walker also fished one inshore day with Captain Adolofo Landing a handful of big Jacks and 2 40 - 45 lb ROOSTERFISH near the beaches of Tronconis.
Captain Cheva on the Dos Hermanos 2 reported 7 SAILFISH, 18 TUNA, 1 ROOSTERFISH and 3 YELLOWTAIL JACKS in 6 days of fishing.
Ixtapa Zihuatanejo vacation area weather had some rain and wind, and was mostly cloudy through the week. Sea conditions were moderate to rough.
