FALL FISHING IMPROVES WITH BETTER WEATHER

Finally, stable weather arrived in the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo sportfishing area, after two weeks of difficult conditions.

The fishing has picked up dramatically and the beginning of the fall season is here.

Both inshore and offshore action turned on last week. First time anglers to Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Bob and Kathy Howard, fishing aboard the La Bamba with Captain Jose, landed a nice 9 foot SAILFISH on their first day offshore.

Victoria Kennedy and her group fishing with Captain Efraine on the Vamonos III had 4 SAILFISH hookups but were unable to land any of the fish.

Captain Efrain did manage 1 SAILFISH for Ixtapa Zihuatanejo client Chip Bain.

The Ixtapa Zihuatanejo charter fishing boat Suerte Ruby reported 1 Blue MARLIN landed.

During inshore fishing at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Captain Luis of the Gran Jefer led Eurpoean angler Mr. Hivart to wide open YELLOWTAIL JACK action and he landed 53 Jacks and released 1 DORADO in 2 days of fishing.

Captain Artuo on the Janeth also found the large school of Jacks, landing 35 in two days for his client Mr. Jouret.

French Angler Mr. Julienne fishing 5 days at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo with Captain Adolofo on the Dos Hermanos I, landed 6 DORADOS 2 SAILFISH, 7 ROOSTERFISH, 11 YELLOWTAIL JACKS, 1 SNOOK and 19 BONITOS.

California angler Randy Fitch also fishing three Ixtapa Zihuatanejo days with Captain Adolofo landed 3 ROOSTERFISH, 1 YELLOWTAIL JACK, 1 SAILFISH, and 7 BONITOS.

Our captains are reporting more and more DORADO and SAILFISH as the week progressed and the upcoming week will host the annual Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Total Tag & Release Tournament.

Ixtapa Zihuatanejo weather was sunny, with mild temperatures, calm seas, and a good bait supply.
