SPORTFISHING BOATS SNATCH COMMERCIAL LONG LINES

Nov. 27, 2005, Paul Phillips, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mexico Commercial Fishing Report:

On Saturday one of the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo sportfishing boats came upon 3 commercial long lines.

After an hour of trying to raise the federales they took it upon themselves to eliminate the problem.

Eight of the sportfishing boats picked up their lines and took their clients to see Mexican style conservation. The boats cut up and confiscated the three "cimbras." It took about 2 hours but you should have heard the anglers talking about it when they returned. What a change from 5 years ago!
