SAILFISH BITE HEATS UP FOR OFFSHORE CHARTER FISHING BOATS

Dec. 29, 2005-Jan. 7, 2006, Stan Lushinsky, Ixtapa Sportfishing Charters, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mexico Fishing Report:

A significant increase in the offshore sailfish bite at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo was experienced by anglers last week.

Very little inshore fishing was done because of the hot offshore bite. The blue water is within 5 miles. Ixtapa Zihuatanejo weather was sunny, with mild temperatures in the upper 80's. Sea conditions were calm. The bait supply was good.

Capt. Chico Garcia on the Llamarada fishing with angler Mr Ross landed 3 sailfish in one day.

Capt. Chiro, fishing on the 35-foot Bertram, Bloody Hook, posted a 4 sailfish, 2 dorado day for angler Richard Cambria. Captain Chiro also reported a 5 sailfish one day performance with angler Paul Joyce.

Capt. Jose on the La Bamba reported landing 3 sailfish and 2 big dorados in one day for angler Mr. Shirley and then reported another 3 sailfish, 1 dorado day for angler Walt Smith.

Erin Mcgragor's group fishing aboard the Vamonos 2 and Vamonos 3 for 1 day, landed a total of 11 sailfish.

Mr Theunis from France fished with Capt. Candelerio aboard the Leydy 5 days, landing 23 sailfish, 2 blue marlin, 8 Dorados and 25 bonitos and mackerels.

The single best fishing day was by Capt. Adolofo on the Dos Hermanos 1 with Art Petroff who landed 8 sailfish on his first day offshore. Captain Adolofo also led angler Paul Joyce to 4 sailfish in one day.
