CHANGEABLE WEATHER GREETS LAS ARENAS SIDE CHARTER FISHING BOATS
Oct. 31, 2004, Gerardo Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:
Las Arenas fishing weather and fishing were very changeable this week. At the beginning of the week, we had improved catches of wahoo of 35 to 40 pounds, some dorado and some tuna in smaller sizes.
On Saturday, Las Arenas fishing areas had wind from the northwest, and it affected the fishing. Today, on Sunday, we have rain, and we are not planning to send boats out fishing.
Las Arenas weather is between 70 and 88 degrees, with a little warmth still, but the water temperature is going down to 78 to 82 degrees, in the areas around Bahia de la Ventana, Punta las Arenas, and Punta Perico, where we fished this week. Few La Paz vacation area boats went out with fishermen this week. The commercial boats from Punta las Arenas are now working around Los Frailes and they are reporting good catches.
