OFFSHORE FISHING PRODUCES DORADO, SIERRA, SAILFISH, AND MARLIN
Dec. 5, 2004, Gerardo Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:
We had another week of good fishing at Las Arenas and caught dorado (also mahi-mahi or dolphinfish), sierra, sailfish, marlin, some tuna, and bottom fish including cabrilla and pargo last week.
Las Arenas side fishing during these days has been between Ensenada de los Muertos and Punta Perico, although only a few boats went sportfishing. La Paz weather was 70 to 84 degrees, and the fishing water temperature is still a little warm, at 76 to 80 degrees, depending on the winds and currents.
Sardina bait has been available at Isla Cerralvo, and we needed to go out there for it, but we also caught dorado and marlin with needlefish baits on windy days.
