RED SNAPPER CAUGHT AT PUNTA PERICO
Feb. 27, 2005, Gerardo Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:
This last week of February has good fishing for pargos, some sierra and cabrilla, and small yellowtail around Los Piles and Punta Perico, where we have been fishing daily this season. In the mornings, we've been fishing at Los Piles, where there is sardina bait, and we've also been fishing there early with black-purple Rapalas.
Later on in the day, we are fishing at Punta Perico for red snapper. This week, Bruce Burlison and his fishing partner Ross had good luck with wahoo and a good catch of pargo, cabrilla, and yellowtail.
The La Paz vacation travel weather has been very good, about 75 to 80 degrees, with just a little wind in the afternoons, and the water temperature is in the 70s.
We continue to have few tourists, but we are receiving reservations for March already, and this indicates that the anglers will be coming soon, and we will see everybody also at the Fred Hall Show coming soon!
