LOTS OF LIVE BAIT AVAILABLE ON THE BACK SIDE OF ISLA CERRALVO
March 5, 2005, Gerardo Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:
In La Paz fishing this past week, the weather was a little changeable, with both sunny and cloudy skies, but without enough wind to make fishing difficult. For the time being, we have very pleasant air temperatures, and a water temperature of 70 to 75 degrees in our fishing areas.
Fishing for live bait is located on the back side of Isla Cerralvo, and we have a lot of it, and we can get any size we want for an exciting day of fishing. This has helped us catch a lot of pargos, which are concentrated around Los Piles, and fishing for them has shown clients how strong they are.
Today, fishing at Punta Sur on the island, Teri and Mike Clark of Modesto also felt the power of the wahoo when they caught a 30 pounder, with Capt. Nufo helping first-timer Teri.
Fishing in this same location, we also caught two yellowtail of good size, a 25 pounder by Henry Barrios, and another big one by Mike Clark.
Fishing at La Paz right now is also good for cabrilla and smaller pargos around Punta Perico, and in this area today we also caught medium-sized dorado. We have a big variety of fish right now.
Thank you to everybody who visited our booth at the famous Fred Hall Fishing and Boat Show. We are ready to offer our services to everyone who wants to go fishing in the La Paz area, and we enjoyed talking with our old friends about their fishing trips with us. Thank you to everybody for your support and friendship, from everybody at Tortuga Sportfishing.
