FISHING PICKS UP AT THE END OF THE WEEK

March 6, 2005, Jonathan Roldan, Tailhunter International, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

We started La Paz fishing week slow and ended with a lot of high notes. Fishing on both sides cranked nicely for our La Paz as well as our Las Arenas anglers.

On the La Paz side the incredible dorado fishing continued off the south side of the island, not wide open, but certainly decent numbers and quality fish considering these mahi should not be here right now. On top of that, yellowtail also slammed the baits making for some great fillet action off the island.

For Las Arenas anglers, we finally turned in some solid fishing so things could be looking up. Not only did the dorado clock in but up the side of Cerralvo Island, the pargo look to be setting up shop for the early season with fish up to 40 pounds but most in the respectable 20 pound class. Dorado were up to 35 pounds with most in the 15-20 pound class. All good.
