YELLOWTAIL CAUGHT ON NORTH SIDE OF ISLA CERRALVO
April 1, 2004, Gerardo Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:
In recent days, La Paz fishing weather has had sunny days, and some days of wind from the north. On Tuesday, we had a beautiful fishing day, and our fisherman enjoyed a stupendous day, catching yellowtail at the north side of Isla Cerralvo and at Los Piles, and we observed big numbers of pargos in these same locations.
The main quantities of sardina baits are still located in these locations, making fishing good there. Capt. Hugo Lucero reports that he's seen marlin in the last few days while fishing around the buoys located about 5 miles outside of Ensenada de los Muertos, and also wahoo off the south end of Isla Cerralvo.
In this fishing month of April at La Paz, we are beginning to feel the change in temperature of the water and also the weather, and the sportfishing is getting better, little by little. In the coming days, we are hoping to see the first dorado and tunas near the coast.
