FISHING BOATS CATCH WAHOO AT SOUTH END OF ISLA CERRALVO

June 17, 2005, Dos Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

The fishing weather at Las Arenas remains steady with light southeast breezes, and some night winds from the west that make it slightly cool during those hours, all with no problems for the fishing, although we had some anglers a little seasick sometimes.

The last few days have had some great fishing action, and we've caught plenty of wahoo at Punta Sur of Isla Cerralvo. Some of our anglers caught up to two wahoo in the 30 to 45-pound range.

Right now, we also are seeing schools of pargos, amberjack, and yellowtail located around the same area at Isla Cerralvo, Piedra Atravesada, although we haven't been catching them. We have been fishing the last two days for tuna and dorado, which little by little are making their appearance, and giving us more types of fish to catch.
