ROOSTERFISH CAUGHT WITH EDUARDO'S TOURS

July 1, 2005, Donald Rubi, La Paz, Mexico Large Roosterfish Catch Report:

The date this roosterfish was caught was on May 13, 2005. I was fishing with Capt. Fili on the panga "Goyita" out at Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico, at Punta Arenas to be exact. My fishing arrangements were made with Eduardo Gomez of Eduardo's Tours.

We were about 30 yards offshore, trolling live sardinas, about 4 to 5 inches. I was using a boat rod with a Daiwa Sealine reel and 40-pound test. The roosterfish hit and the fight was on, lasting 25 minutes. The general consensus of the other fishermen that gathered around upon our return to shore was that it weighed 90 to 100 pounds.

In the photo, I myself weigh 190 for comparison. My girlfriend Evelyn accompanied me and took the photos. We stayed at La Concha Beach Resort in La Paz.
