LAS ARENAS SIDE FISHING REPORT BY TORGUGA SPORTFISHING
Aug. 27, 2005, Dos Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:
Fishing at Las Arenas has remained about the same as our last report. During the past week, the weather has been a little contrary, due to the nearing of the hurricane. On Tuesday, the weather was a little bad, with wind and swells of about 2 feet beginning from the south, and it was a day when most pangas could not catch many fish.
The next day was sunny again and very calm and hot, and we caught some dorado of 15 to 25 pounds at Las Cruces.
During this fishing week, very few pangas went out, and Thursday we had a surprise Torito with wind and rain from the south that made the pangas return to the beach in the morning.
These last few days have changed from days with many fish to days with few fish. We hope that with these days of wind, the fish will take shelter around Isla Cerralvo, and we'll be able to catch a lot of them.
