TORTUGA SPORTFISHING FLEET FINDS TUNA OF 15 TO 25 POUNDS

Sept. 4, 2005, Dos Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

We've had some big changes in the fishing at La Paz this week, and also in the fishing weather on the Las Arenas side. The weather improved a lot this week, and we're fishing under sunny skies. Our fishing area has been extremely calm the whole week, with an air temperature up to 102 degrees, with a couple of cloudy mornings too.

As for fishing, the yellowfin tuna have arrived, amigos! During these past days, we've caught tuna of 15 to 25 pounds, and we've seen some bigger ones mixed in with the schools. We are catching them with sardina bait at Isla Cerralvo and also at Ensenada de los Muertos.

For the moment, we're only catching a few dorado, mostly found around the north side of Isla Cerralvo, around Las Cruces. Our Captain Rigo said the fishermen of El Sargento also caught yellowtail on the north side of the island. We are also using squid for bait that we are catching at Punta Perico and Ensenada de los Muertos.
