TORTUGA SPORTFISHING PANGAS FISH AT LOS MUERTOS AND LAS CRUCES
Oct. 30, 2005, Dos Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:
After several days of variable action here, the fishing at Las Arenas, Los Muertos, and Las Cruces has begun to improve. We are seeing a change in climate now, feeling cooler days and a little wind, with daytime temperatures of 86 degrees, and 60 degrees at night, with winds originating in the west and north.
As for the fishing at Las Arenas, we are continuing to catch squid for use as bait for pargo. This week, the fishing was located toward the north of Ensenada de los Muertos, around the area of Las Cruces, where we caught dorado of 16 to 30 pounds, using bonito chunk bait.
Also caught were some tuna around Punta Perico, with weights of about 20 to 30 pounds. In this same area, we caught cabrilla and pargo perro.
At this time, there are a lot of marlin and sailfish located about 5 miles, or perhaps a little farther, off Punta Perico, so we are able to offer our clients many different types of fish to catch.
