FISHING UP-AND-DOWN WITH FEW VACATIONERS IN THE AREA

Dec. 17, 2005, Jonathan Roldan, Tailhunter International, La Paz, Mexico Sportfishing Report:

There are just not too many folks fishing at La Paz right now. It's the lull before the holidays. Fishing has finally turned seasonal. With intermittent winds from the north, some days are better than others depending on the conditions. There's surprisingly still some great spots of dorado around especially near Cerralvo Island, but you have to be fishing there at the right place at the right time as the fingers of warmer water move in and out.

Some La Paz free divers jumped into a school of bait and had as many dorado around them as they could have wanted. Most of our catch this week consisted of a few dorado, but a lot of snapper and smaller pargo with most of the fishing action taking place on the Las Arenas side since that's the most protected from winds, but when weather permitted, there were also fish to be taken for our boats fishing north out of La Paz to fish the islands and reefs.
