MIXED SNAPPERS, SIERRA, AND SOME TUNA OUTSIDE FOR TORTUGA SPORTFISHING
Jan. 27, 2007, Tortuga Sportfishing, Gerardo Hernandez, La Paz, Las Arenas side, Baja California Sur, Mexico:
This week, we had better fishing weather on the Las Arenas side of La Paz, but with air temperatures in the 50s seen.
These last few days, we have had just a little wind, with sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s.
The fishing at La Paz had remained similar to previous weeks. We are catching good numbers of pargos of various types. We are fishing in various areas such as Isla Cerralvo and also at Punta Perico.
Our catch this week included pargo lisa, pargo mulato, sierra mackerel, and also some yellowfin tuna that were caught north of Isla Cerralvo.
We are fishing for tuna outside when the wind allows us to get to the fishing areas for them.
Our sardina baits are now also located in the northern fishing areas.
Our Baja charter fishing pangas are continuing to find big quantities of Humboldt giant squid in these southern Baja fishing waters. We are continuing to fish with squid bait.
