SOME DORADO TO 50 POUNDS CAUGHT OFF ISLA CARMEN
Loreto, Mexico Fishing, Arturo Susarrey, Arturo's Sportfishing, Sept. 4, 2004:
Weather, it has been nice and calm during the first days of the week except few days that we have some local rain and breeze and wind out there by the island.
The Howard storm brought us some rain yesterday and today but while the Howard storm is on the Pacific Ocean we took the advantage to go fishing. Loreto Dorado are still located in the same area, by Punta Perico, Isla Carmen, and as before we are getting the big ones registered during the season 2004.
Some dorado weighed up 50 pounds. There are not too many, but there is quality. While we can speak about of an average of 3 pieces per Loreto fishing boat, these are located on little current seaweed spots.
Sail Fish and Striper Marlin, located in same area as Dorado, Loreto fisherman continue catching and release most of them.
Loreto Yellowtail, on Punta Baja south of Carmen Island, weights of 18 pound each and they were catching 4 pieces per boat.
BAIT: Available on Coronado Island ( catching your own ) or buy it early morning at the marine, at the price of 10 pieces for $ 15.00 U.S. and 20 pieces for $ 25.00 U.S.
