MANY YELLOWTAIL CAUGHT NORTH OF TOWN WITH CAPT. RIGO MARTINEZ
Sept. 28, 2004, Mitchell Rose, Loreto, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:
Just got back from Loreto. My arms are very tired from hoisting Yellow Tail about 40 miles North of Loreto. I had a unique experience this trip. Fished with Joe De Pillo who has a beautiful home down there and his Loreto fishing Capitan Rigo Martinez.
We started by catching yellowtail and a few small Dorado. It was at Punta Pulpito, 200 feet deep on live bait, Mackerel and Big Eye. Because Rigo dives, on the way back he speared 2 Parrot fish. The next stop he speared 2 Cabrilla, 1 Pompano and a small Lobster. The next stop he gathered up Scallops, and finally one more stop for Chocolate Clams.
On the way down to Loreto we visited the Serenidad Hotel and we couldn't find anybody. There was one worker on the grounds.
