DORADO FISHING REBOUNDS AFTER 5 DAYS OF WIND
Nov. 6, 2004, Arturo Susarrey, Arturo's Sportfishing, Loreto, Mexico Fishing Report:
Loreto has been very windy during the week, with the good weather starting yesterday.
After 5 days with a lot wind, the Loreto vacation zone is starting to have good dorado fishing in the same areas 7 miles northeast of Coronado Island and 4 miles northwest of Punta Lobos on Carmen Island, more or less.
Most Loreto anglers are catching limits of dorado, with on average of 8-12 pounds, and a few up to 12 to 20 pounds. We are also catching sierra, cabrilla, and dog snapper.
There are some sailfish in the same areas as the dorado, but we are not seeing striped marlin.
roosterfish are at San Bruno, 15 miles north of Loreto, and they are about 18 pounds each, a few per boat.
There were a few yellowtail of 12 to 15 pounds at Isla Coronado before the wind started to blow.
Mackerel and bigeye bait are available at Coronado Island by catching your own, or buy it early in the morning at the Loreto marina, at a price of 10 pieces for $15 or 20 pieces for $25.
