SMALL BOAT FISHING TRIP OUT OF PUERTO ESCONDIDO
Nov. 9, 2004, Ed Kammer, Puerto Escondido, Loreto, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:
Launching from Puerto Escondido and fishing out around the corner towards Loreto, caught 2 more Dorado yesterday in the same area along the cliffs, on a Rebel jointed lure, light blue and white.
I was fishing in my 15-foot Mirro Craft with a 25-h.p. Yamaha. Fishing from Punta Coyote to Juncalito trolling the Rebel jointed lure. My depth finder has hit one too many Mexican bumps so I do not have a water temp but the interesting thing is catching Sierra (nice 5 pounders) and Dorado (15 pounds and down) in the same area, on the same lure, on the same day.
Out of two Puerto Escondido trips, 3 Dorado and 5 Sierra, with a few Barracuda mixed in. Today I did not go out since the wind is picking up so will move on to Punta Pescadero Area. Lots of rain down this way within the past 3 weeks and the desert is as green as I have ever seen it even greener than after the hurricane last year.
