COOLER WEATHER BRINGS SIERRA TO THE AREA
Nov. 27, 2004, Arturo Susarrey, Arturo's Sportfishing, Loreto, Mexico Fishing Report:
Loreto has been very nice during the week. The Loreto fishing water temperature was 60 to 73 degrees, and unfortunately there were only a few fisherman on the area, but we expect more next week.
There are a lot of sierra around the Loreto area now. Some anglers are using alive sardinas, and some use jigs for their capture. Right now there are also Cabrilla, Red Snapper, yellowtail, and roosterfish, and the Sierra have been caught by fly fisherman on the surface.
For yellowtail, it looks like the Loreto winter season it is going to be one of the best. Right now Yellowtail, Cabrilla and Red Snapper are being found at Punta Pulpito 35 miles north of Loreto, right where our winter San Nicolas Fishing Camp is located. We would like to send best wishes to our 2004 clients including the ones that stayed at our San Nicolas Fishing Camp, and we hope they come back again to enjoy this great adventure.
Mackerel and big eye baits are available at Coronado Island or from the marina by catching your own, or buy it early morning at the Loreto marina, at a price of 10 pieces for $15 U.S. and 20 pieces for $25 U.S. Plenty of sardinas are available for $10.
