SOME CABRILLA AND RED SNAPPER CAUGHT
Jan. 16, 2005, Arturo Susarrey, Arturo's Sportfishing, Loreto, Mexico Fishing Report:
During the last five days, the Loreto vacation area has had very nice fishing weather between 60 and 75 degrees, without wind, but last night the west wind did blow.
Fishing for yellowtail has produced good numbers of them in the Punta Pulpito area, with weights of 20 to 25 pounds, and biggest to 30 pounds. Some cabrilla and red snapper were also caught at Punta Pulpito, which is 35 miles north of Loreto. Fishing for roosterfish and sierra mackerel is still available at Mangle, at San Bruno bay, 8 to 10 miles north of Loreto.
This week, of our lucky Loreto fishermen was Bob Clark with Capt. Jesus Murillo, who caught their limit of various fish including yellowtail, cabrilla, and others.
We are looking forward to the beginning of our Loreto adventure fishing season at San Nicolas Camp which is coming soon.
Mackerel and bigeye baits are available to be caught at Isla Coronado or at the Loreto marina, or buy it early in the morning at the Loreto marina at the price of 10 pieces for $ 15.00 U.S. and 20 pieces for $ 25.00 U.S. Also Sardina are available on the Loreto harbor early on the morning.
