WAHOO CAUGHT OUT OF LORETO SHORES
July 11, 2005, Jan Stark, Loreto Shores, Loreto, Mexico Fishing Report:
Patrick O'Brian from San Clemente fishing on boat Real Deal with Van Dickinson, caught a wahoo, July 8th, fishing 55 miles on 45 degrees from Loreto marina, in a water temperature of 84 degrees. Patrick also hooked and released a 110 lb. striped marlin and one other wahoo which won the tug.
The Real Deal is a Skipjack. Since we do not have a launch ramp at Loreto Shores, Van launched from the Loreto Marina and used a mooring in front of Loreto Shores. Sea conditions were a bit choppy due to the disturbance down south of Cabo. Today is beautiful. The water is calm. It just seems to take longer this year for the water to warm in close.
