WINDY BAJA FISHING WEATHER KEEPS LOCAL BOATS OFF THE WATER
Jan. 7, 2006, Arturo Susarrey, Arturo's Sportfishing, Loreto, Baja Sur, Mexico Fishing Report:
Loreto weather has been very windy during the week. Our crews were only able to fish on Tuesday and today. Fortunately, today we are having a beautiful nice and calm day.
Yellowtail catches during the only two days of fishing at Loreto has been very slow because of the weather situation. We had reports that some of our clients had been catching some yellowtail on the north side of Carmen Island and also at Punta Perico. They reported from 2 to 6 Yellowtail with a weight of 15 to 20 pounds.
There were also some yellowtail caught at Coronado Island with a weight of 10 to 15 pounds each.
Sea bass are located at same Baja fishing spots as the Yellowtail, almost 6 fish per boat.
No roosterfish have been reported during the week.
Mackerel and big eyes bait is available on Coronado Island or from the Loreto marina by catching your own, or buy it early morning at the marina, at the price of 10 for $15, and 20 for $25. Sardinas are also available at the harbor early on the morning.
