TUNA AND DORADO JUST OUTSIDE BOCA DE SOLEDAD
Aug. 13, 2005, Gary Graham, Baja On The Fly, Magdalena Bay, Mexico Fishing Report:
Diana Hoyt, of Magbay Outfitters, reported the fishing outside Magdalena Bay's Boca de Soledad is great, with yellowfin tuna and dorado (also mahi-mahi or dolphinfish) continuing to be found just a few miles offshore.
Fishing boats making the trip to the Thetis Bank off Magdalena Bay reported a few marlin, lots of yellowfin tuna and yellowtail as well.
The shark buoys out to 20 miles west from Magdalena Bay's San Carlos entrada were holding good sized schools of dorado. With the offshore fishing action continuing to pick up, few chose to fish inside the esteros. Still plenty of corvina were caught, along with a few pargo and grouper landed at Devil's Curve.
Magdalena Bay water temperature 62-76. Air temperature 74-84. Conditions clear.
