STRIPERS STEADY ON PACE FOR OFFSHORE FISHING BOATS

The striped marlin action continues to set the pace for sportfishing at Mazatlan, and the boats are averaging a billfish per boat day fished. The mako shark are showing up, with the "Aries V" having a 3 shark day.
The "Aries VII" was high boat for the week, posting a 4 billfish day, including 1 sailfish released, 2 striped marlin released and 1 taken that died at the boat. The inshore fishing action at Mazatlan continues to be good and is producing lots of pargo and cochitos and 4 big palometos for the week.
Overall Mazatlan fishing counts reflected 5 sailfish released, 15 stripers, (7 released) 9 dorado (mahi-mahi), 17 yellowfin tuna and 7 mako shark for the offshore waters and 4 palometas, limits of cochitos and lots of pargo for the inshore.
Mazatlan Climate: Partly cloudy, temps ranged from 56-85 degrees.
Mazatlan Sea Conditions: Temperatures ranged from 74-76, mostly calm.
Best Mazatlan Fishing Area: Not reported.
Best Lure/Bait: Rigged trolling baits best for the billfish.
