INSHORE BOATS FIND "ON FIRE" FISHING FOR SIERRA AND BARRACUDA
Nov. 16, 2005, Larry Edwards, Cortez Yacht Charters, Mazatlan, Mexico Fishing Report:
Mazatlan sportfishing offshore catches reflected an average of 1 billfish per boat day fished and included 12 sailfish, 1 blue marlin and 7 stripers, along with 5 dorado and 1 yellowfin tuna.
The inshore fishing at Mazatlan was "on fire" as the super pangas had easy limit fishing on both, on sierra and barracuda and 10 pargos.
The above fishing information is exclusive of the Mazatlan Billfish Classic tournament results, which will be out for the next week's report.
Mazatlan fishing weather was sunny and warm, temps ranging from 61 nights to 87 daytime highs, mostly calm seas, water temps ranging from 76-77 degrees. The best fishing continues to be out to the southwest of the Marina El Cid, 23-28 miles. Rigged trolling baits, especially the mullet, were the hot item.
