MULEGE MISSION CELEBRATES ITS 300TH ANNIVERSARY
Nov. 15, 2005, Ron Grant, Mulege, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:
I just returned from Mulege. The weather was warm in mid 80s during the days and cooling to mid 60s at night. Fishing water in the Mulege area still holding in high 70s.
A good mix of fish such as Dorado can still be found in the Mulege area. Yellowtail are in deep holes, and I was told if you can find working porpoise in channel then you will find Yellowfin Tuna up to 50 pounds.
This past weekend Mulege water was choppy with north winds keeping a lot of boats off the water. There was a Yellowtail tournament that did manage a few Yellows up to 30 pounds but it was hard to make bait and even harder to get the bait deep enough to get the fish.
There were lots of local activities in town as it was the 300th anniversary of the Mulege Mission, 1705-2005. The runway was in good condition at the Hotel Serenidad.
