PV MARLIN FISHES 5 DAYS AT EL BANCO AND ROCA CORBETENA

The fishing this week in Puerto Vallarta was pretty decent. We had some good days and some slower ones.

We fished 5 days in various locations.

Two days of fishing with Walter Dorn went quite well. We fished at Roca Corbeteña one day, and off Sayulita on a shorter trip for dorado the other day.

Out at Roca Corbeteña we got a big Dorado, and two tuna 60-80 pounds. The day outside of Sayulita, we got 3 more dorado and a big sailfish around 95 pounds.

We fished out at Corbeteña another day with Darryl Hanson and Jenny Hanson where we got 3 tuna, one biggie, 200 pounds or so, one medium 120 pounds or so, and one smaller 40 pounds or so.

On a 12 hour fishing trip out to Puerto Vallarta's El Banco with Dan Halby and crew we went after solely big tuna but the atuneros or tuna boats were out there as well and man do they mess up fishing.

It was tough and nothing was showing so we headed back for some different fish and found only one nice dorado and a sailfish.

Then the next day we tried Roca Corbeteña with Rene Delacova on a 12 hour but the skipjack were tricky to find. They only wanted big game rather than going after dorado so we trolled 20 miles outside Corbeteña and got a beautiful double strike on two big black marlin. Both hooked on and both came off shortly after but made some impressive leaps. Maybe we should sharpen our hooks or something...Sheesh.

That's okay, they have another date with us on the next report.

Puerto Vallarta fishing weather is very nice and the water is anywhere from 81 to 84 degrees depending on where we were fishing.
