DORADO AND SAILFISH HEAD OFFSHORE FISHING
Nov. 26, 2005, Daniel Quinonez, PV Marlin Sportfishing, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Fishing Report:
The dorado and sailfish were again abundant this last week, to take place again of the tuna here in the Puerto Vallarta fishing area.
Most Puerto Vallarta fishing boats were coming back with both species consistently.
We fished the last day of the Puerto Vallarta tournament trying for marlin and tuna but came up short. We did hit another nice sailfish with Mike Monterrubio that placed in the tournament but not enough to win the big bucks. We also brought in two small dorado. Maybe next year.
Then we fished another 4 days out of Puerto Vallarta. We tried fishing at El Banco again with Ryan Kroeger where we hit two small tuna in the 40 pound range, a sailfish, and two dorado.
Fishing out of Puerto Vallarta with Darin Green and crew on an 8 hour trip, we hit two sailfish along with a dorado.
Then, fishing with Joaquin Torres, we nailed three sailfish before noon and headed home.
On another Puerto Vallarta sportfishing trip with Richard Alan, we hit a nice tuna out at Corbeteña in the 120 pound range, the lucky catch of the week, and lost a big blue marlin.
We had nice weather here in Puerto Vallarta and 80-84 degree water temperatures in the various fishing locations. All and all, the fishing was decent and seemed to pick up later in the week.
