TUNA FISHING IMPROVES BEFORE ROUGH WEATHER ARRIVES
Sept. 16, 2006, Danny Osuna, Marla's Sportfishing, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico:
This week had terrific fishing at Puerto Vallarta for our sportfishing fleet.
The Arca de Noe with Capt. Alonso Osuna scored a 352 pound cow yellowfin tuna and a few other small fish, like rainbow runners, jacks, pargos, and wahoos. This was with angler David Clutts from the Bay Area of California, fishing at El Banco with a little breezes and a water temperature of 87 degrees.
The Marla III with Capt. Scott Osuna scored 260 pound and a 150 pound tunas plus same rainbow runners, jacks, sailfish, and pargos. This was for angler Mark Gist from Fountain Valley, CA, fishing at El Banco where the the water condition was nice calm seas with nice breezes and a water temp of 87 degrees.
The Marla II with Capt. Danny Osuna scored with a 130 pound tuna, wahoos, pargos, and sailfish. Mike Kemf, Nathan Fitzgerald, Raul Garcia. Moha Ougzin and David Clutts all had a great catch at El Banco on this trip.
The big fish were biting slow but aggressive at Puerto Vallarta this week on the skippy and caballito baits. We saw a lot of big fish crashing around El Banco and Corbeteña.
Too bad we had Hurricane Lane pass close to Puerto Vallarta and the harbor master closed the port for the weekend. We hope after all this bad weather the big boys will be more aggressive around cow town.
