YELLOWFIN TUNA FISHING AT ROCA CORBETEÑA FOR MARLA'S SPORTFISHING BOATS
Feb. 3, 2007, Danny Osuna, Marla's Sportfishing, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico:
This week was great fishing for the Marla's boats at Puerto Vallarta.
We had good catches pretty much every day except for one slow day that we had.
Besides that one day, we had really good yellowfin tuna fishing at Roca Corbeteña for all the boats in our sportfishing fleet, the Marla II, Marla III, and Arca de Noe.
Puerto Vallarta yellowfin tuna are now biting the live caballitos baits, presented by the drifting and slow trolling kite technique.
These tuna are in very nice sizes, all of them from 80 pounds up to 160 pounds, and maybe bigger.
We are getting ready for this next week, when we expect to have great tuna fishing again.
The inshore fish have slow down a little at Puerto Vallarta this week, but the roosterfish, jacks, sierras and amberjacks are still around.
But these inshore fish are not too hungry right now.
Capt. Scott Osuna scored a couple of tunas over 130 pounds and 170 pounds, few dorados, and some bottom fish.
Cap, Alonso Osuna also had a few outings and scored some tunas, amberjacks, dorados, and a sailfish release.
Andrew Moss from Temecula, California, and Chris Vail from Cardiff, California, had a great catch during 2 days of fishing including 2 nice 150 and 160 pound yellowfin tuna caught aboard the Marla II with me, Capt. Danny Osuna, while fishing at Roca Corbeteña offshore of Puerto Vallarta.
Puerto Vallarta vacation fishing area water conditions were, small swell, about 5 to 7 knot wind, and the water temperature at 77 to 79 degrees.
