MARLA'S SPORTFISHING FLEET REPORT
Feb. 17, 2007, Marla's Sport Fishing, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico, Danny Osuna:
Zach Rice from Renton, Washington, Jack Babcock from Inverary, Ontario, Canada, and Alvino Osuna, deckhand, had a phenomenal fishing trip, landing some nice yellowfin tunas from 80 pounds up to 150 pounds.
We fished aboard the charter boat Marla II with me, Capt. Danny Osuna while at Roca Corbeteña in Mexican waters off Puerto Vallarta.
The fishing water conditions off Puerto Vallarta were really nice this week.
We had good weather with just a little breeze and some northwest swell, with the water temperature from 77 degrees to 79 degrees.
This week we had really great fishing for our Marla's Sportfishing fleet again.
We did nail the tunas pretty good using the slow troll kite techniques and drift fishing too.
All the fish were biting live caballitos and live squid baits.
Our Puerto Vallarta charter boat Marla III with Capt. Alonso Osuna and our charter boat Arca de Noe with Capt. Scott Osuna had a great fishing and they scored with a lot of nice yellowfin tunas over 100 pounds, pargos, amberjacks, red snappers, yellow snappers, dorados, and some groupers.
We had a great catch of good mixed fish species while jigging around the high spots around Roca Corbeteña.
Also, the other local fishermen at Puerto Vallarta reported good fishing for dorados, sailfish, and a few striped marlin, located about 5 nautical miles north of Punta de Mita at the north end of Puerto Vallarta's Bahía de Banderas.
We are expecting to have a great fishing week as the weather is getting much better day after day and the water is much cleaner and warmer.
