GOOD TUNA ACTION AT ROCA CORBETENA
March 2, 2007, Danny Osuna, Marla's Sportfishing Fleet, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico:
Capt. Alonso Osuna and angler Paul Lapinsk from Englewood, Florida, caught a 285 pound cow yellowfin tuna aboard our charter boat Marla II while fishing at Roca Corbeteña in Puerto Vallarta waters off the central Pacific coast of Mexico.
Fishing water conditions offshore of Puerto Vallarta were perfect for the kite fishing technique and drifting baits. At Roca Corbeteña the water temperature was 77 degrees.
This week, Mexican sportfishing boats at Puerto Vallarta had good fishing for mixed species including yellowfin tunas, red snappers, pargos, groupers, bonitas, amberjacks, dorados and a few sailfish and striped marlin.
Marla's Sportfishing Capts. Danny Osuna and Scott Osuna had a good week of fishing, scoring with some tunas from 50 pounds up to 100 pounds, red snappers, groupers, roosterfish, dorados, pargos, and amberjacks.
Capt. Alonso Osuna had a super week scoring with tunas from 50 pounds up to 285 pounds. On tunas, we're having a great week of fishing.
The cow tuna are coming back to Puerto Vallarta waters, and very big fish have been arriving at Roca Corbeteña in addition all the 100 pound class fish we have caught there lately.
The tunas are all over Roca Corbeteña crashing and chasing flyers and small squid, so we have caught all these big fish on the slow troll kite technique, and on the drifting too.
This this week we hope will be better and we are expecting more cows to be caught so we are totally going nuts and we have get all our heavy gear back in the boat to do the work on these cows.
